About The Event

We are happy to announce our very first Book Club of 2020! Please visit our friends at Green Toad to purchase the book- Nonviolent Communication by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg- you'll receive 20% off your purchase! We suggest purchasing the book by mid February so that you can read it before our meetup, on March 1st (secondary date March 15th if the first sells out).

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a conscious practice of using powerful tools to help us communicate effectively to meet our needs. The tools set forth in this book are a means to deepen our sense of personal empowerment while genuinely connecting to another person in an empathic way. Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, founder of the Center for Nonviolent Communication - a global network of NVC trainers and practitioners, offers insightful stories, anecdotes, practical exercises and role-plays that will dramatically change your approach to communication for the better. It may strengthen relationships, build trust, prevent conflicts and heal pain.

Through this book club we will explore what arises for each of us as we recall stories and anecdotes from the book. Then we will practice NVC using the basic tools offered in this book. The goal is to provide space for each person, as they wish, to receive empathy in a supportive and safe container with the intention to maintain the integrity of each person.

Join Sonia as she facilitates TRIBE YOGA's very first Book Club on her favorite resource she uses on a daily basis!

Sonia will be collecting donations to support the People of Colour for Nonviolent Communication (POC4NVC) organization and their first retreat efforts for disadvantaged groups who would not normally have access to this information or training. Donations are 100% optional and 100% of the proceeds will go to POC4NVC!
