About The Event
Build Your Inversion from the Ground Up!
In this 2-hour workshop, guest teacher Josh Kane will guide you through a vigorous vinyasa sequence specifically designed around one basic principle: learn to trust your hands like you trust your feet. You don't have to be a gymnast or a master yogi to enjoy this workshop. Josh makes it easy to grasp the concepts and find your flight at any ability level. Modifications and hands-on assists will be offered, as well as partner work and wall work, making sure you leave with plenty of fun new tools and insights for your inversion practice!
A bit about Josh Kane: Fun Fact! Josh began drumming at age 6 and started working as a professional child actor at age 8! Josh first found yoga in 2004 after an audition with the "Blue Man Group" in NYC. He moved to Los Angeles in 2006 where he deepened his spiritual practice having experienced many austerity practices such as fasting, vows of silence, celibacy and hours of seated meditation and having read texts from many different religions. He has completed a 40hr transformative mediation training with Ken Cloke, founder of 'Mediators Beyond Borders', and in 2012 he began visiting “The Esalen Institute” in Big Sur and co-created a meditation podcast called “The Shaman And The Rockstar”.
Josh moved back to CT in 2014 and started working at lululemon athletica, but decided he wanted to tie his acting skills, his love for teaching music and his practice of yoga all together. He began playing live music for yoga classes around CT and New York and started teaching.
In 2018 he completed a 300hr advanced Bhakti Yoga teacher training with Raghunath at Supersoul Yoga in Chatham, NY. In addition to his 300hr training, he has almost 400 hours of teaching experience, not including the many classes he has either DJ'd or played live music for.
Josh teaches music, yoga and meditation privately in his home in New Haven CT, and holds public yoga classes at Sama Yoga, Balanced Yoga, Bend Yoga in Milford, Breathing Room Yoga in New Haven and Intentional Wellness in Katonah, NY. His classes are challenging and fun for students of all levels, and he is always eager to share the practices of music and Bhakti Yoga with anyone who wants to learn.
